Daniele Macuglia, from the University of Chicago and Art Institute of Chicago, will give an overview of the major contributions that Leonardo made to early modern anatomy.
Commemorating the 500th anniversary of Leonardo’s death in 1519, the library is hosting this program to provide a glimpse of his accomplishments and lasting legacy.
This program will entail an overview of the major contributions that Leonardo made to early modern anatomy. Attendees will learn about the background of Leonardo’s anatomical drawings, their innovative character, and will get acquainted with some instructive examples from the Royal Collection.
Daniele Macuglia is a physicist and historian of science. He works at the University of Chicago and at the Art Institute of Chicago, where he teaches classes on Science and Society in the Italian Renaissance.
