This year, the library is contributing to the annual Benches on the Avenue installation in downtown Tinley Park. We are asking teen artists in grades 6-12 to help us paint our bench. In honor of this year's theme, Saturday Morning Cartoons, we will be creating a bench based on the long-running animated series, Arthur! Arthur, everyone's favorite library-loving aardvark in a sweater, originally made his debut as a book character in a series of picture books by Marc Brown.
By signing up for this event, you are committing to two four-hour Saturday painting sessions in the library's large meeting room.
All supplies will be provided, and snacks and drinks will be served on both days. Although we will provide aprons and shoe covers for you to use, we highly recommend that you wear clothing which you don't mind getting stained with paint.
