Through dramatic monologue, poetry, and song, Ms. Cynthia Maddox captures the spirit of Mrs. Tubman, giving her audience a powerful glimpse of the charismatic life of Lady Moses. Mrs. Tubman, whose undaunted dedication to a better society, has emphatically impacted the course of history.

Bio: History and heritage have long been dominant and are recurring themes in the performance of Cynthia Maddox, a Chicago actress, director, vocalist, playwright, and producer. Ms. Maddox has acquired an audience by portraying the lives of a wide range of African American heroines. For the last twenty-five years, she has been touring her one woman show, "A Bit of History" about the life of Harriet Tubman.
Cynthia has portrayed Ida B. Wells for the Chicago Mayor's Office of Special Events. She has also given moving portrayals of Susan Boggs, Mary Elizabeth Bowser, Elizabeth Keckley, and Charlotte Forten for the Chicago Historical Society. She performed Sojourner Truth at the Chicago Art Institute. Cynthia is now performing in "Five Famous African-American Women" for Rose Productions. Ms. Maddox has two new shows, "Historic Heroic Women" and "The Freedom Sisters".
For ten years, Ms. Maddox was the Artistic Director for LaMont Zeno Theatre on Chicago's Westside, where she directed elementary and high schools students in over thirty productions.
