Abraham Lincoln: A New Birth of Freedom

Join us at the Tinley Park Historical Society for a first-hand account from Abraham Lincoln himself of the history of the United States of America during his time, from his childhood on the frontier to the twelve turbulent years from 1854 to 1865 which nearly destroyed our young nation but instead eventually resulted in a “new birth of freedom." This event is sponsored in part by the Tinley Park Historical Society. Signup required.

Speaker Bio: Kevin Wood portrays President Abraham Lincoln, one of our nation's most beloved and esteemed historical figures. He has made appearances at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum, the Lincoln Home National Historic Site, the Lincoln Heritage Museum, and the Chicago History Museum, among many other places and events.

As President, Mr. Lincoln ably led our nation through its darkest days, when brother fought against brother, and the fabric of our "more perfect Union" was nearly torn asunder.

Mr. Lincoln is available to share his remarkable story at a wide variety of venues, including libraries, museums, senior residences, schools, churches, civic/historical events, conferences, and parties.  He even participates as "Running Abe" in races and triathlons. More information about Kevin Wood can be found at MrLincoln.com.
